Why Teach Global Cultures?

To encourage cultural creativity in the classroom which could be as a result of interactions and mixing of ideas from different aspects of the lives and activities of individuals from other countries or societies.

Share information on societal behaviors, values, ethics, etc, and discuss with students on their impact on the lives of people around the world. Engages students in critical thinking about their lives in an international context at a very exciting time, with a vast amount of resources freely available to help them grow and learn as students and citizens (Rothenberg, 2003).

Mobilize, motivate, enrich and empower their participation in the global community, live interdependently with people of other societies. They do not have to visit or live in foreign lands to be able to interact with the global community. Fosters not only students readiness and interest to explore in foreign lands and languages, but also will enrich their study of it when the time comes.

Studying global cultures that have ties to the local community will help students develop a personal connection to the world around them (www.performance-education.com). Spread of peace, tourism, brands, products, trade and commerce.

T.A.L.E.S Seminar
Students today are under increasing pressure to specialize, and many are likely to enter a global culture and to interact with citizens of many nations. Accordingly, it is to their advantage to learn as much as possible about the traditions, values, and problems of other people and cultures, and to be sensitive to environmental issues that affect us all.
